Start with an organised batch
Bulk PVC card preparation becomes easier when the source files are clear and the job is organised. Keep each customer's documents identifiable, separate different print requirements and remove duplicate files before importing. A folder of consistent downloads is a different job from a mixture of photographs and scanned sheets.
Use Add Files or Add Folder in CardPress, select the documents for the job and choose Crop Now. The Windows workflow brings the results together so you can inspect and edit them without approving or rejecting every crop as a separate step.
Train recurring layouts once
Choose a representative document
Open Trainer with a clear example of the document layout you regularly receive. Use an original download or scan that matches the incoming jobs.
Mark the card regions
Manually select the front and back regions you want cropped. Keep page instructions and extra whitespace outside the selection.
Save the document type
Name and save the layout so it is easy to recognise later. Keep different page arrangements as different layouts.
Reuse it on matching files
With Automatic detection selected, confidently matching pages reuse the saved regions. Uncertain matches use normal detection, and every result remains editable.
Spend review time where it is needed
A changed download format, a rotated scan or a photograph taken at an angle may need a different crop. Open Edit crop on those results and adjust the corners or orientation. Training a layout does not make every document of the same card family identical.
Check the front/back pairing as well as the crop. When a batch contains documents from several customers, the correct two sides must stay together through export and printing. Inspect text and QR codes at a useful zoom before using card stock.
Move from cropped cards to a print run
Save the prepared output, then select the cards for printing. CardPress's print dialog shows a preview and lets you choose the printer and available settings. Open the printer's own properties for its media and feed options.
Use a layout that matches the physical sheet or PVC tray. Make one alignment check and inspect a printed front and back before continuing. Reuse the working settings for comparable jobs, and recheck them when the printer, tray or media changes.
Documents are processed locally on the Windows computer. Processing time depends on page count, image resolution, document complexity and the computer itself. Clear source files and reusable layouts help avoid unnecessary manual corrections.
Common questions
Can I prepare several card documents together?
Yes. The Windows app supports importing files or a folder and processing the selected documents as a batch. You can inspect the results together and edit individual crops.
Will a saved layout work on every file of that card type?
A saved layout is intended for matching page arrangements. Downloads and scans of the same card family can differ. CardPress falls back to normal detection for uncertain matches; check the results before printing.
How do I get Windows access for my shop?
Use WhatsApp to contact CardPress about a licence. Sign in with your Google account, arrange access, then download the Windows app and use its computer code for activation. Online checkout is not enabled yet.
