PVC Card Printing Software for Windows

CardPress helps print shops prepare existing card documents for PVC printing. Bring in PDFs or scans, crop the card faces, check the front and back, and send the finished layout to your Windows printer.

Turn a document page into a printable card

An ID document may arrive as a full-page PDF, a photograph or a scanned sheet containing two sides. Printing the whole page also prints the surrounding instructions and whitespace. CardPress extracts the card regions so you can work with the front and back individually.

Automatic detection gives you editable results. Open Edit crop when a boundary, rotation or corner needs correction. Keep text, portraits and QR codes inside the selected region, and check that the two sides belong together before making a print.

How to print PVC cards with CardPress

  1. Import your files

Use Add Files or Add Folder in the Windows app to bring in the documents for the job. Choose Crop Now to prepare the card images.

  2. Check and edit the results

Inspect the card boundaries and front/back pairing. Adjust the crop, orientation and image settings where needed.

  3. Choose the output layout

Set the card size and placement for your sheet or measured PVC tray. Crops add no margins by default; proportional fitting with margins is available when required.

  4. Preview and print

Select the cards and open Print. Choose your printer, review the preview, then open its properties to select the media and quality settings for the job.

Printer properties and PVC tray alignment

Install the manufacturer's Windows driver so CardPress can use the settings exposed by your printer. Media type, feed source and printable area depend on that driver and your hardware. The CardPress preview helps you check placement before sending the job.

For an Epson L8050 workflow, match the layout to your actual tray and driver settings. Measure the card positions and make a plain-paper alignment check before using card stock. A compatible tray and suitable printable media are still required; a preset alone does not establish physical compatibility.

Keep scaling consistent between CardPress and the driver. If the driver resizes a prepared layout to fit a different paper size, the printed card positions can move. Check one front and back before running multiple copies.

Check these details before a print run

  • Use a clear original PDF or scan. A higher export DPI cannot recover text missing from a blurred source.
  • Check all four edges and keep important content inside the crop.
  • Confirm the front/back orientation and loading direction for your tray.
  • Choose 300 or 600 DPI output according to your workflow and source quality.
  • Inspect the first physical print before continuing the batch.

Common questions

Does CardPress print directly from Windows?

Yes. The Windows app has a print dialog with a preview, printer selection and access to the printer's properties. The installed Windows driver handles the job for the selected printer.

Can I remove the white margin around a card?

Windows crops add no margins by default. Check that your selected crop ends at the card edges. Proportional fitting with white margins is optional; printer hardware can impose its own printable-area limits.

Does CardPress supply a printer or physical PVC cards?

CardPress provides software access. You arrange the printer, suitable media and physical printing separately.
